Who's it for?
Anyone! It doesn’t matter what age you are, whether you are single or married, employed or out-of-work, whether or not you have children, whether you’re a committed Christian or ‘just looking’, or what background, race or culture you come from – if you are looking for "life to the full" (John 10.10), you are welcome! What do you offer for children?
Children take part in the service for the first 25 minutes of sung worship and are then invited to join the Young Vineyard groups that run alongside for the remaining 50 minutes. However, they are also free to stay in the service with their parents if they wish. What kind of worship songs do you use? We sing a mix of contemporary songs from Vineyard Worship, Hillsongs, Bethel and others, along with more traditional hymns. If you'd like to hear a sample, including some used in Children's Worship, just click on the Spotify playlist below. How can I join the church? You'll find lots of information about how to join Melton Vineyard on the GETTING INVOLVED page. |
ABOUT Melton Vineyard
Melton Vineyard is a Christian church, established in 2006 by Founding Pastors Neal Swettenham and Eluned Owen and now led by Caroline and George Stannard. The church is a member of Churches Together in Melton. We believe that the church's role is to equip ordinary people to live extraordinary lives through the power of the Holy Spirit and our vision can be summed up in three words:
|
BLESS | SERVE | PRAY
We want to BLESS others as we share the unconditional love of Jesus
We will SERVE each other and the wider community
We will PRAY in order to do all this in the power of the Holy Spirit
"We believe that God is at work in every individual’s life, and our aim is to connect people to Jesus, serve the communities in which we live and be channels of the Holy Spirit. Our style is relaxed and informal and there is plenty of fun and laughter, even as we take God and His word seriously. We use mostly contemporary worship songs and informal prayer, though there can be the occasional traditional hymn or set prayer as well. We want to be a church where imperfect people (all of us) feel perfectly welcome, where worship and prayer are at the heart of everything, and where people can encounter God’s love and power, without hype and at their own pace."
Melton Vineyard is a registered charity and part of the Vineyard family of churches. Steve & Tammy Gee, from Central Vineyard Northampton, are our Regional Leaders and our trustees are Jillyan Beadle, Bernie Carter, Steven Cliff, Nick Gretton, Caroline Stannard and George Stannard. Melton Vineyard is a member of Churches Together in Melton Mowbray.
Vineyard Churches
The Vineyard Movement is a network of over 1,500 churches worldwide, committed to seeing each generation reached by the power of the gospel. Valuing integrity in Christian character along with the activity of the Holy Spirit, each Vineyard church seeks to be an outpost of God’s compassionate love in a broken world.

John & Debby Wright
John & Debby are the National Directors of the movement and have been serving together in pastoral ministry since 1990. John initially trained and worked for a number of years as a jeweller before studying at London Bible College. Debby lived in Chile until she was 13 and later moved to Nottingham to train as a dancer and artist. They first got involved with the Vineyard movement in 1982 and in 1987 they spent 8 months as interns at Anaheim Vineyard under John Wimber the leader of the Vineyard Movement in the USA. Following their time at Anaheim they returned to England to help John and Eleanor Mumford start the first UK Vineyard in London. They worked at South West London Vineyard for 9 years before moving back to Nottingham to set up Trent Vineyard. In January 2015 it was announced that they would take over as the National Directors of Vineyard Churches UK & Ireland from John & Eleanor Mumford, whilst continuing to lead Trent Vineyard. Today there are about 120 churches in the UK and Ireland and the Vineyard continues to grow, pursuing a mission to preach the gospel, plant churches and change the world. |
