What is a Hope Centre?
A place where people can receive encouragement, as well as practical and emotional help; where they can be listened to and discover a supportive community – in short, a place of hope.

Where is it?
The Hope Centre is on Nottingham Street, right next to Argos.

Who is it for?
It is a resource for the community and also serves as a weekday activity base for Melton Vineyard Church.

What does it consist of?
The front section, which faces directly onto Nottingham Street, comprises a shop-front/ multi-purpose space for hosting exhibitions, coffee mornings, community events, etc.; two counselling rooms, which house a confidential listening service, Breathing Space, as well as other community services; a large upstairs Loft space for meetings, family activities (e.g. Parent and Toddler group) and small-scale arts events; and the Melton Vineyard church office.
Once the refurbishment is complete, the rear part of the building will be the new home for Storehouse, Melton’s food and clothes bank which, until now, has been operating out of the old Fox Inn in Leicester Street. The new venue will provide more space and additional facilities, such as a shower, disabled WC, interview spaces with greater privacy, kitchen and ‘shop’ area.

Can other community groups use it?
Spaces are available for community use and commercial hire, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm. Just use the CONTACT form to ask for more details.

When is it opening?
The building was officially opened on 1 November 2019 and the rear part will open in early 2020. If you would like to make a contribution to the work that is still to be completed, click on the button below.
