AFFILIATION & TRUSTEES
Melton Vineyard is a registered charity, 1147284, as well as being a company limited by guarantee 8062908, which together provide a legal accountability structure.
The board of trustees oversee matters such as legal and financial controls, safeguarding, compliance, risk and governance. For this reason, when vacancies arise, new trustees are typically recruited by the existing board with a view to maintaining a helpful mix of relevant skills and experience, e.g. accountancy, legal knowledge, business experience, health and safety, charity management, etc. Trustees do not carry responsibility for the spiritual leadership or theology of the church, nor do they participate in the day-to-day decision-making, which is delegated to the senior pastors (unless they have additional leadership roles), but may help, advise and support in all these areas.
Melton Vineyard seeks to appoint trustees who are committed to the mission, purpose, values, priorities and practices of the Vineyard movement and, wherever possible, to reflect the diversity of the community we serve. It is also our aim at any given time to have at least one trustee who is a member of another Vineyard church.
Melton Vineyard is affiliated to Vineyard Churches UK and Ireland, charity 1099748, and to The Evangelical Alliance, charity 212325.
