HOUSE OF PRAYER – SATURDAY 25 FEBRUARY

Picture
House of Prayer is an invitation to meet in your home with friends from church and combine some social time with prayer. We want this to be a day when the church gets serious about praying for the world, for the nation, for our community, for the church and for each other. You can do this in a number of ways:
  • Agree a time on Saturday 25 February when you will meet up with a couple of friends to share a coffee and pray together. You could chat for half an hour and pray for half an hour or you could make it a longer time of prayer – the exact length of time is not as important as making the commitment to do some praying together!
  • You could come along to either the MEN'S PRAYER BREAKFAST or the WOMEN'S PRAYER BREAKFAST that will be happening at the Hope Centre on that day from 9–10.30am in different spaces. Click on the name of the event above to sign up and let us know you're coming.
  • You could arrange to meet up with others from your Life Group to pray together.
  • If you have children at home, you could set aside a special time to pray with them and maybe meet up with another family who have children of a similar age.
  • Sam and Pam Weller are hosting an open drop-in for prayer at their house from 2–4pm.
  • If you are unable to meet with others (for example, if you're away from home or have a particularly busy day that Saturday), we'd love it if you could still commit to pray for at least half an hour at some point.
  • Whichever you choose, we'd really appreciate it if you could let us know when you'll be praying and who you'll be praying with by signing up here (you can select just one or multiple half hour slots):
PRAYER SIGNUP
Here are some prayer resources that you can use, if needed; or you can choose to pray as God leads on the day. Either way, make sure you spend some time praying for each other, as well as for the things God puts on your heart. If you sense God giving a word or picture that's for sharing, don't forget that you can do that by posting it in our online PRAYER JOURNAL.
PRAYER RESOURCES

AWAKE, AWAKE O CHURCH!

Awake, awake, O Church!
It’s time,
to rise and shine.
It’s time,
to open eyes, ears and mouths,
And toe the Spirit’s line.

It’s time,
to open up hearts of love,
And look upon those fields.
It’s time to pray,
‘Lord, mercy’ for a nation,
And then await those Jesus yields.

For let there be prayer in the life of the church,
Prayer in a church with life,
Life in the prayers of the church,
And life in a church with prayer.
For the church with prayer brings life,
And the church with life has prayer.

So, let’s stoke that flame,
In Jesus’ name,
And fan into flame that prayer gift.
For he who prays is prayerful, therefore careful,
And the name of Jesus uplifts.

For the prayer of the righteous,
It’s effective,
unto asking and receiving.
The prayer of the righteous,
most powerful,
Unto ask, seek, knocking,
And yet always believing.
