KEEP THE FLAME BURNING

Here are some thoughts on how to keep the lamp of our faith burning brightly:
  • Knowing that Christ is with me even when I feel lost or alone
  • The support of my brothers and sisters in the Lord, Life Groups, prayer triplets, Christian friends, contact on WhatsApp
  • Going to church every week and getting good teaching
  • Familiar Bible verses and worship songs
  • Not being afraid to ask for prayer for myself; being open and honest
  • Praying for others
  • Allowing God’s Holy Spirit to work through me, even when I don’t want to do something
  • Daily quiet times, using apps like Lectio 365, Bible in One Year
  • Journalling to assimilate what I am learning
  • Reading and listening to contemporary spiritual authors to get a deeper perspective
  • Making the choice to keep going and believe that God’s way looks much better than any alternative
  • Noticing the many wonderful details in creation
  • Staying in the moment and sharing all my thoughts in prayer with God
  • The sure and certain knowledge that I have the Holy Spirit within me and that God the Father loves me as his precious child
  • Noticing how faith supports human endeavour to do great and altruistic things
