Young Vineyard Co-ordinator
Hours Part time, 0.2 FTE
Salary £25,000 -£27,000 p.a. pro rata, plus 5% of gross salary towards a personal pension scheme

Role Develop and resource children’s ministries in Melton Vineyard
Role description
Gather and grow teams for Young Vineyard groups and reach out into the community with children and family events. Plan a Young Vineyard programme for Sundays that encourages the children to develop a personal faith in Jesus.
Due to the central nature of this role to the working of the Church, the key responsibility for developing a Christian curriculum for the children and young people, and participation at our staff prayer meetings, it is a genuine occupational requirement that the role holder is a Christian, and (from a practical perspective) also a participating member of Melton Vineyard Church.

Principal responsibilities
- Oversee programming and ministry for children from birth to school year 6
- Identify, recruit, train and release leaders to oversee each age group.
- Develop and maintain fun environments, activities and programming for each age group that will facilitate learning and encourage spiritual growth.
- Oversee rotas for Young Vineyard teams and ensure correct ratios of children to team members.
- Develop and maintain a strategy for attracting and assimilating new children and families
- Ensure that the safer recruitment process and DBS checks are carried out on all team members.
- Induct, support and train team members
- Consistent attendance at Sunday services, leaders meetings and training as required.
- Be the point of contact for families and team members.

- Able to support wholeheartedly the vision and values of Melton Vineyard.
- Committed member of a Melton Vineyard Life Group.
- Serving, contributing member of Melton Vineyard.
- Sense of calling to children and family ministry
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- Ability to build and lead volunteer teams
- Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
- Ability to work under pressure and work flexibly according to varying needs
Desirable
- IT skills, including MS Office
- Familiarity with DBS and other safeguarding procedures
