Sunday mornings

Who can come? Anyone! Come as you are. You don’t have to dress up and it doesn’t matter what age you are, whether you are single or married, employed or out-of-work, whether or not you have children, whether you’re a committed Christian or ‘just looking’, or what background, race or culture you come from – you are welcome! On average we currently have around 100+ people each week coming along to our services.
Where do you meet? We meet at Pera Conference Centre on Nottingham Road, Melton Mowbray, LE13 0PB. The Pera building is just north of the town centre on the left-hand side as you drive into Melton from the Nottingham direction. Click to find us on Google Maps or for a printable PDF map and directions.
What happens? Refreshments are served from 10 onwards (filter coffee, tea, doughnuts, melon and squash) and people tend to arrive any time from then until 10.30 when the service starts. The service includes contemporary worship, an informal slot for sharing news (often there are interviews and personal stories too), a message aimed at adults, and prayer. The service ends at around 12 noon, but most people stay around for a while after that to chat together and enjoy more refreshments. Every first and third Sunday of the month the services are BSL interpreted.
What about my children? Children’s groups run throughout the service, with age-appropriate activities suitable for babies right up to 14 year olds. Don’t worry: if your children need you at any point during the morning and are not easily consoled, we will come and find you. All our volunteers are CRB-checked and trained in line with our Child Protection Policy.
Is there parking available? There are several large car parking areas at the Pera and because it’s a multi-use site, there is a security guard on duty to check cars in and out. Don’t worry, though: he’s very friendly!
How will I know where to go? As you come in through the gate you will see the main entrance directly ahead of you. The most convenient car park to use is the one on your left. However, if you need disabled access, head for the car park on the far right hand side of the building where the wheelchair ramp is located. If you're not sure, the security guard will be happy to direct you. (Please observe the site speed limit of 15mph – thank you!)
